SUMMARY:Walking Tour of Historic Coronado
DESCRIPTION:One of the best ways to experience the history of Coronado is to go on a historic walking tour. This is the secret that Coronado locals know: it takes time to sense the past. When you slow down\, you have a chance to see\, hear\, and remember this place that Hollywood stars\, princes\, and presidents have enjoyed. Everywhere you look in this charming beach town\, you find history. And\, that history is easiest to see on foot – when you have a chance to linger in front of a tiny\, shingled house\, perhaps\, and meet the resident as he comes out into the yard to water his roses and tells you about the multiple generations who have lived in the home. Or\, when you seemingly stumble upon the magical house from which the Wizard of Oz was born. \nWe’re proud to host you on Coronado’s premier walking tour. Every tour purchase supports the Coronado Historical Association and its mission. Thank you for your support. \nEvery Sunday at 11 am & Thursday at 1 pm\nLocation: Coronado Historical Association\,\n1100 Orange Ave\, Coronado\, CA 92118\nAdmission: Adults $20 | Children (12 & under) $5\nBUY TICKETS HERE\nTours are approximately 90 minutes and two miles at a comfortable pace. They are appropriate for young and old alike. Only certified service animals are allowed. This is an outdoor tour. Masks are optional for fully vaccinated persons with the booster shot\, and required for those who are not. \nOnline tour sales close at 10 am the day of the tour and are nonrefundable. SUMMARY:San Diego Shakespeare Society Presents: Shakespeare Authorship Forum
DESCRIPTION:For hundreds of years people have questioned whether William Shakespeare of Stratford-upon-Avon actually wrote the plays and sonnets credited under his name\, in view of his limited education and experience. Mark Twain\, Walt Whitman\, Sigmund Freud\, and Malcom X\, to name a few\, have expressed such doubts. \nThe audience will watch a 30-minute documentary\, “Last Will & Testament\,” which provides an overview of the question and viewpoints both from the so-called “Orthodox” school and from the doubters. The film will be followed by a discussion\, led by a moderator from the San Diego Shakespeare Society\, of all points of view on the topic. \nThe event will include a Zoom appearance by Cheryl Eagan-Donovan\, a noted documentary filmmaker\, who will argue in favor of a leading author candidate\, Edward de Vere\, Earl of Oxford\, a highly educated nobleman in the court of Queen Elizabeth\, who traveled extensively in Italy where so many of the plays take place. \nThis is a hybrid event\, meaning it will take place in-person\, but people can also watch and participate from elsewhere via Zoom. To do so\, please register using the link below\, and you will receive the Zoom link shortly before the event.  \nhttps://www.eventbrite.com/e/shakespeare-authorship-forum-in-person-coronado-library-and-via-zoom-tickets-338793700077?aff=odeimcmailchimp&mc_cid=0260f261e6&mc_eid=311eb1849a \n
