SUMMARY:FILM FORUM CORONADO: "Lightning (Inazuma)" Primary tabs
DESCRIPTION:Coronado Public Library\, in partnership with the Coronado Island Film Festival\, presents FILM FORUM CORONADO\, taking place the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6 pm in the library’s Winn Room. Film expert Ralph DeLauro provides a brief introduction to each film and leads a discussion afterwards\, often including pointers about how lighting or camera angles contribute to a scene’s mood or propel the story. \nFebruary 15: Lightning (Inazuma) (1952\, 90 min) \nMikio Naruse’s eloquent\, slow-burn rebellion against social conventions is considered his masterpiece. Hideko Takamine portrays a perky bus conductor frustrated with the tensions in her squabbling family who breaks free to make a go of it on her own. This film is in Japanese with English subtitles.
