Truffaut stars as a seasoned director of a tawdry melodrama who must navigate  the off-screen dramas that swirl around him – an impetuous leading man (Jean-Pierre Leandro)\, a fading diva (Valentina Cortese) and a troubled starlet (Jacqueline Bisset).
