Film expert Ralph DeLauro provides a brief introduction to each film and leads a discussion afterwards\, often including pointers about how lighting or camera angles contribute to a scene’s mood or propel the story. \nOctober 5: The Hawks and the Sparrows (1966\, 90 min\, Italian with English subtitles) \nControversial Pier Paolo Pasolini directed this subversive comic odyssey focused on a father (Italian screen legend Toto) and his slow-witted son who take a time-traveling stroll through life accompanied by a talking “left-wing intellectual” crow spouting Marxist philosophies and social critiques.
