DESCRIPTION:Grab some sunscreen and head to the beach with the Coronado Public Library! Join Ms. Natalie for a fun storytime on the beach. Enjoy stories\, songs\, and fun while sitting in the sand. These storytimes are for all ages and everyone is encouraged to stay after and enjoy the beautiful beach Coronado has to offer! \nStorytime will take place in the sand at Central Beach\, within sight of the bathrooms and main lifeguard tower. Look for a green popup tent with “Coronado Public Library” on the side. Bring proper shade and supplies for your child to have an enjoyable storytime! \nAnd stay after for a NAT-partnered Bioblitz where you and your child can learn how to document the plants and animals that live along our coast with our teen librarian Tara. \nCitizen Science Project: Snapshot Cal Coast BioBlitz

SUMMARY:Citizen Science Project: Snapshot Cal Coast BioBlitz
DESCRIPTION:Help document California’s incredible coastal biodiversity and take part in this year’s Snapshot Cal Coast with a BioBlitz! Library staff will teach you how to use iNaturalist to make observations of the plants and animals you see at the beach. \nSnapshot Cal Coast is an annual California statewide community science effort that encourages people to make and share observations of plants\, animals\, and seaweeds along the California coast using the iNaturalist app. Led by the California Academy of Sciences with support from the California Ocean Protection Council\, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife\, and the MPA (Marine Protected Area) Collaborative Network\, and an array of other partners\, we are creating a valuable snapshot in time of where species are located along our coast. \nMake sure to download the free iNaturalist app and bring your device to participate! Look for the Library’s green pop-up near the main lifeguard tower. We will have specimens from the San Diego Natural History Museum for folks to view! \n  \n
