SUMMARY:Walking Tour of Historic Coronado
DESCRIPTION:One of the best ways to experience the history of Coronado is to go on a historic walking tour. This is the secret that Coronado locals know: it takes time to sense the past. When you slow down\, you have a chance to see\, hear\, and remember this place that Hollywood stars\, princes\, and presidents have enjoyed. Everywhere you look in this charming beach town\, you find history. And\, that history is easiest to see on foot – when you have a chance to linger in front of a tiny\, shingled house\, perhaps\, and meet the resident as he comes out into the yard to water his roses and tells you about the multiple generations who have lived in the home. Or\, when you seemingly stumble upon the magical house from which the Wizard of Oz was born. \nWe’re proud to host you on Coronado’s premier walking tour. Every tour purchase supports the Coronado Historical Association and its mission. Thank you for your support. \nEvery Sunday at 11 am & Thursday at 1 pm\nLocation: Coronado Historical Association\,\n1100 Orange Ave\, Coronado\, CA 92118\nAdmission: Adults $20 | Children (12 & under) $5\nBUY TICKETS HERE\nTours are approximately 90 minutes and two miles at a comfortable pace. They are appropriate for young and old alike. Only certified service animals are allowed. This is an outdoor tour. Masks are optional for fully vaccinated persons with the booster shot\, and required for those who are not. \nOnline tour sales close at 10 am the day of the tour and are nonrefundable. Private Tours are available for groups. Learn more by clicking here.

SUMMARY:San Diego Bay Parade of Lights - Dec 11 CANCELED
DESCRIPTION:San Diego Bay December 11th Parade of Lights Canceled by the Coast Guard due to Weather advisory \n\n\nThe Coast Guard announced that the San Diego Bay December 11th Parade of Lights has been cancelled due to a weather advisory. There is a storm rolling in on Sunday that is projected to have high wind speeds which could make the parade dangerous for our boating participants. The safety of those who participate in the San Diego Bay Parade of Lights is of the upmost concern to us.  \n\n\nThe San Diego Bay December 18th Parade of Lights is still set to happen\, and we hope to see everyone celebrating this holiday safely next weekend.  \n\nThe San Diego Bay Parade of Lights holiday boat parade\, “FantaSEA\,” held on San Diego Bay\, will take place December 11th and 18th\, 2022. \nThe San Diego Bay Parade of Lights brings more than 100\,000 San Diego residents and visitors together on the San Diego Bay waterfront each year. The procession of about 80 lavishly decorated boats has become one of the region’s most iconic holiday events and has brought the community together for over half a century now. \nThe parade route starts at Shelter Island and travels east past Harbor Island\, then south along the Embarcadero\, Seaport Village\, and Cesar Chavez Park before turning parallel with the Coronado Bridge to the west side of the bay. The parade then proceeds past the Coronado Ferry Landing to the finish line. It takes about two hours to complete the procession and there are many comfortable waterfront viewpoints along the route. \nViewing areas span across multiple areas of the San Diego Bay. Prepare for traffic and parking ahead of time. \nThe parade takes approximately one  hour to one and a half hours to pass any given point along the parade route.  The approximate arrival time of the parade at various locations are: \n\nShelter Island (start of parade)   5:30 p.m.\nHarbor Island                                6:00 p.m.\nThe Embarcadero                          6:30 p.m.\nSeaport Village                              7:00 p.m.\nThe Pier at Cesar Chavez Park        7:15 p.m.\nFerry Landing on Coronado             7:30 p.m.\n\nFor more information and parade details\, visit sdparadeoflights.org. \n  \n  \n
