SUMMARY:Household Hazardous Waste Collection
DESCRIPTION:Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection is held the second and fourth Saturday of each month\, from 9 am to 2 pm at the Public Services Facility\, located at 101 B Avenue\, and is available to Coronado residents only. No business or contractor-generated waste is permitted. \nHousehold products containing toxic chemicals become hazardous waste when you decide to dispose of them. Never throw hazardous products in the trash\, as the toxic chemicals may harm the environment and sanitation workers\, and start fires in trash trucks. Never pour hazardous products into a sink or storm drain. It is dangerous and they will end up in our environment polluting the air\, water and soil. The City of Coronado’s HHW program is available so that all residents in the community can safely dispose of their toxic\, hazardous waste. \nMore details HERE.

SUMMARY:Forum on The Current State of Public Education in America
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, July 9th\, the Coronado Democratic Club is sponsoring a forum and panel discussion on The Current State of Public Education in America. \nSince four of the five seats on the Coronado Unified School District Board of Trustees are on the November ballot\, it is important voters know which issues impacting public education are real and which are fictional. \nThe moderator will be Brian Trotier. Our panelists are Peter Bolland (Southwestern College)\, Darshana Patel (Board Member\, Poway Unified School District)\, Casey Tanaka (CUSD Faculty Member and current City Council Member)\, and Jennifer Landry (CUSD Faculty Member and ATC President). \nSpread the word to your friends and neighbors\, regardless of their politics. This topic is so important that we want as much public participation as possible. \nThe forum is open to all members of the Coronado community and admission is free. All attendees must bring proof of vaccination. Masks are optional\, but welcome. The doors will open at 10:30 am and the forum and panel discussion will begin at 11 am and end by 12:30 pm. \n  \n
