DESCRIPTION:Come and meet the artists and curator of the Dia de los Muertos Ofrenda exhibit. Light refreshments will be provided. \nThe Dia de los Muertos Ofrenda exhibit will run Sept. 1 through Nov. 17 at the Coronado Public Library. An artist’s reception will be held on Sept. 15 from 2 to 4 pm in the Spreckels Reading Room. \nAn ofrenda (Spanish: “offering”) is the offering placed in a home altar during the annual and traditionally Mexican Día de los Muertos celebration. An ofrenda\, which may be quite large and elaborate\, is usually created by the family members of a person who has died and is intended to welcome the deceased to the altar setting.
