DESCRIPTION:Go beyond the basics of the English style of knitting in this five-week course taught by Ann de la Torre for those who have taken introductory knitting and are ready for the next step. All materials provided. Drop-in; no registration. Syllabus is below – current class date noted by italic font. \nSyllabus:  \nClass 1: Discuss and practice different stitches (garter\, stockinette\, rib\, seed\, moss\, sand\, Andalusian\, and garter-ribbing) \nClass 2. Practice different patterns with knit-purl stitches (broken rib\, triangles\, pyramids\, woven squares) \nClass 3. Different design patterns (boat\, heart and also tree and owl [uses crossover]) \nClass 4: Discuss and practice different cables ( single\, double or mated\, and three strand cable) \nClass 5. Practice cable motifs ( cable twist\, woven cables) \, discuss design for own creations i.e. blanket or sweater.

Creator of El Santos alongside Jose Ignacio Solorzano “Jis\,” Fabulas de Policias y Ladrones (Fables of Cops and Crooks)\, and Don Taquero among many others. Event will be Spanish-English bilingual. \nThis event is presented in partnership with Consulado General de Mexico en San Diego/the Mexican Consulate of San Diego.
