DESCRIPTION:Join Joel Anderson for an afternoon of painting! Follow along with Joel as you paint a giraffe as part of the Coronado Community Read. This program is geared towards elementary school students\, but all are welcome. \n“A 31-year-old artist\, author\, international speaker\, ambassador\, and philanthropist from Fallbrook\, California\, Joel Anderson creates in acrylic\, mixed media\, digital media\, animation\, glass\, and video production. ‘My passion is for my art to make you smile. I enjoy using bright colors. When I hear music\, I see color in the notes and sometimes that will show up in my art. When I paint portraits\, I paint upside down so I do not get distracted by the emotions of the eyes of my subject. This way I can paint the shapes and shadows. In the end I will flip it over to finish the eyes and hope to capture the soul. I draw for the children at school assemblies. It makes me happy when students say my art has inspired them to be an artist. I hope to continue travel for inspiration and to share my art around the globe.'” \nJoel Anderson has been to Peru\, China\, Japan\, Canada\, and across the USA where he has spoken on autism\, inclusion\, and friendship. Anderson’s art has been featured in The California Museum in Sacramento\, The National Art Center of Tokyo in Tokyo\, Japan\, The H.H. DESCRIPTION:Students from Coronado High School and Coronado School of the Arts will open their spring exhibition “Magnetic” on April 14\, 2022 at the Coronado Community Center. The Opening Reception will be held from 6-7:30 pm in the Nautilus Room\, and the public is welcome to attend and celebrate with the artists. \nThe exhibition of artwork represents a crossover of CoSA Visual Arts and the CHS Portfolio and AP Art classes. Student artists have developed original ideas for their work under the guidance and instruction of Laura Hill and Karrie Jackson. \nIn addition to the original works\, the exhibition also includes master studies of California Impressionist\, Edgar Payne\, as well as works of Life Drawing\, Portrait\, and Figure Studies. \n“Magnetic” will run through April 30th in the C3 Gallery in the Coronado Community Center.

Recognized for her photographic work in National Audubon Society as well as a finalist in the prestigious Wildlife Photograph of the Year competition\, Krisztina’s photos have been published in magazines and articles around the world\, including National Geographic\, Wild Planet Photo Magazine\, California 101\, San Diego Audubon Society\, American Wild Magazine\, Birders Digest\, Marine Conservation Magazine – UK\, North American Nature Photography Association\, and more. They have also been featured in Art Shows and Galleries around the country. \n“There is a thrill in capturing the exciting moment of a Grebe running across the water’s surface\, or that split-second shot of a baby bird poking its head from its nest\,” says renowned nature photographer Krisztina Scheeff. In this talk\, Krisztina will delve into the stories of her favorite birds\, such as the sweet Atlantic Puffins in Scotland\, and the explosive flight of the Sandhill Cranes in Bosque del Apache.
