SUMMARY:FILM FORUM CORONADO: "Carnival of Souls"
DESCRIPTION:Coronado Public Library\, in partnership with the Coronado Island Film Festival\, presents FILM FORUM CORONADO\, taking place the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the library’s Winn Room. Film expert Ralph DeLauro provides a brief introduction to each film and leads a discussion afterwards\, often including pointers about how lighting or camera angles contribute to a scene’s mood or propel the story. \nSeptember 16: Carnival of Souls (1962\, PG\, 80 min) \n \nIngmar Bergman meets The Twilight Zone! Enter the dreamlike world of Carnival of Souls: eerie\, atmospheric and hugely influential. Intended to have the “look of Bergman and the feel of Cocteau\,” the film follows the sole survivor of a fatal accident as she finds herself becoming more disconnected from the world – being mysteriously drawn to an abandoned carnival pavilion and experiencing visions that blur the line between reality and the supernatural. Starring Candace Hilligos and Sidney Berger.
