DESCRIPTION:On view through September 13 \nThe Green of West Plaza: 90+ Years of The Coronado Lawn Bowling Club celebrates over 90 years of the Coronado Lawn Bowling Club (CLBC) with an emphasis on its history\, community involvement\, and contribution to the sport of lawn bowling. The bilingual English/Spanish exhibit features trophies and medals won by members of the CLBC\, highlighting the skill and sportsmanship that women and men have excelled at both on a national and international level. \nTo complement the successes of the club\, the exhibit explains the game of lawn bowls along with the equipment used. Very little equipment is necessary to play bowls\, making it an accessible sport for all demographics. Lawn bowling is one of the few sports that allows women and men to compete together on an equal platform regardless of age. \n

SUMMARY:Summer Concert: Bluegrass band\, The Shoreline Pickers
DESCRIPTION:The Shoreline Pickers band originated from casual jam sessions at the shoreline of Mission Bay. They love acoustic music and enjoy the contributions of the various instruments. The members are Mary Jane Cupp on mandolin\, Mark Pullin on guitar\, Pete Varhola on bass\, John Deckard on harmonica\, and Jacob Blythe on banjo. All members contribute vocals as well. The Shoreline Pickers have performed at churches\, civic organizations\, San Diego County libraries\, as well as at the San Diego County Fair. They enjoy playing traditional Bluegrass\, some Old Time\, and other Americana. \n \nThe Library’s Summer Concerts offer the perfect midday musical escape in the Winn Room. This concert is free to attend thanks to the support of the City of Coronado and the Friends of the Coronado Public Library. Seating is first come\, first seated and doors will open at 12:45pm.
