SUMMARY:Biography & Memoir Book Club: "Between Two Kingdoms"
DESCRIPTION:Join the Through Their Eyes Book Club in reading “Between Two Kingdoms” by Suleika Jaouard. Just a few weeks shy of her twenty-third birthday\, a diagnosis: leukemia\, with a 35 percent chance of survival. Just like that\, the life she had imagined for herself had gone up in flames. \nAfter four years\, in a hospital bed fighting for her survival and chronicling the saga in a column for The New York Times\, Jaouard embarked—with her new best friend\, Oscar\, a scruffy terrier mutt—on a 100-day\, 15\,000-mile road trip across the country. She set out to meet some of the strangers who had written to her during her years in the hospital. “Between Two Kingdoms” is a profound chronicle of survivorship and a fierce\, tender\, and inspiring exploration of what it means to begin again. (Amazon) \nThrough Their Eyes Book Club meets on the second Wednesday of month.

We finally had a six month run of ‘Million Dollar Quartet’ in 2022. In the meantime I wanted to follow that story of men who changed American music in the ‘50s\, with something to feature some of the great women singers Lamb’s has worked with. So I asked Kerry Meads and Vanda Eggington\, who had done such a great job developing the hits ‘Boomers” and ‘American Rhythm’ for Lamb’s\, to tackle a production about the amazing women singers & songwriters of the ‘60s. And\, now finally\, the premiere of R-E-S-P-E-C-T!”
