DESCRIPTION:Join the Library for the 2022 Summer Festival Jazz Concerts. Sponsored by the Friends of the Coronado Library and Hotel del Coronado\, concerts will take place every other Friday from June 3-August 26. Doors will open 15 minutes prior to each performance. \nClosing out our Summer Festival is vocalist Joe Bourne presenting Great Gentlemen of Swing Blues and Pop. The repertoire will be a range of music from Lou Rawls\, Frank Sinatra and Friends\, Al Jarreau\, Nat King Cole\, Johnny Mathis\, Perry Como\, Louis Armstrong and a taste of Motown. \nBorn in Cambridge\, Massachusetts\, Joe Bourne was inspired by many of the big names of jazz and popular music that toured the Boston area. Whether it’s a swinging rendition of the fun song “Goody Goody\,” Oscar Brown’s philosophical “Dat Dere\,” Errol Garner’s romantic ballad “Misty” or his special tribute to the great Nat King Cole\, Joe always captures the audience with his own style\, warm mellifluous jazz baritone voice\, and dynamic showmanship. Joe has shared the stage with Natalie Cole\, Ray Charles\, Nina Simone\, Dionne Warwick and several other jazz and popular music greats. \nOver the years Joe has received several prestigious awards such as The Diamond of the Year award presented by The Bund Botschafter Ohne Grenzen\, and the Kunstler des Jahres (Artist of the Year award)\, both for top-class entertainment in Germany. He has also been honored with the Silver Orpheus in Bulgaria and the Jimmy Kennedy award in Ireland\, both for his special presentation of Gershwin’s “Summertime.” \n

DESCRIPTION:Discover a new favorite spice or herb with the Coronado Public Library! Each month\, the library invites community members to explore different spices used in dishes around the world. Registrants will pick up the monthly spice/herb selection at the library\, cook with it\, and join other food enthusiasts to talk about what they made and their thoughts about the spice. The meeting will be held on Zoom on Friday\, August 26 at 2 pm. Once registered\, participants will receive instructions on how to pick up a spice packet for the Spice It Up\, Coronado program. This smash musical hit is a fascinating look at that night and how they and their music would change American culture forever. Featuring: Bret Benowitz\, Michael Louis Cusimano\, Ben Van Diepen\, Charles Evans Jr.\, Katie Sapper\, and Lance Arthur Smith. \nTickets range from $24 to $68\, depending on the seating section and day of the week. Discounts are available for seniors (66+) and veterans. Half-price tickets are available for youth (ages 5 to 17)\, young adults (18 to 34) and active duty military. \nShowings are Wednesday\, Thursday and Friday at 7pm; Saturday at 4pm and 8pm; Sunday at 2pm. \nLamb’s Players Theatre operates under the Health Protocol set by Actors Equity\, the union of theatre performers. To help ensure safety and well-being in the current pandemic environment\, all our theatre staff\, cast and crew members are fully vaccinated. All our Usher Teams are required to be fully vaccinated as well. Currently all audience members ages five and above are required to have proof of full vaccination with 1) a physical COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card issued at the time of vaccination\, or 2) a photograph of the patron’s Vaccination Record Card\, or 3) a digital vaccination record.
