Wednesday, August 14 at 10:30 am
Coronado Public Library, Winn Room

The community is invited to learn about dozens of the most remarkable birds to be found on our infinitely diverse planet. On Wednesday, August 14 at 10:30 am, bird species from all seven continents will be discussed. Enjoy this hour of color and unconventionality, and leave knowing you share the planet with these special, spectacular species. Presented by Philip Pryde, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus at San Diego State University where he taught courses in environmental policy for 32 years. While at SDSU, he authored six books and over a hundred published papers, has been a Fulbright Research Scholar, and is the recipient of a national distinguished teaching award. He served on the Board of the San Diego Audubon Society from 1980 to 2014, has been its President and Conservation Chair, and chair of the committee responsible for the Society’s 780-acre Silverwood Wildlife Sanctuary. His local conservation work has twice been written up in the national magazine of the National Audubon Society. He was named the 2018 National Cox Conserves Hero. Dr. Pryde has taught introductory and advanced birding courses in San Diego for over 20 years, has birded on all seven continents, participated in the data collection for the San Diego County Bird Atlas, and has led birding tours for San Diego Audubon Society all over North America.
