Kick Off the New Year with an Italian ‘Celebrazione’ at Primavera Ristorante

Felice Anno Nuovo! Primavera Ristorante, located at 932 Orange Ave. in Coronado, will say “saluti!” to the new year with a celebratory three-course New Year’s Eve meal and specialty cocktail, available exclusively on Tuesday, Dec. 31.
Primavera’s prix fixe ’La Viglia di Capodanno’ feast is priced at $85 per person. A specialty cocktail, The Countdown, will also be available for the celebration, made with Ketel One vodka, Chambord, simple syrup and champagne, priced at $14.
To start, guests may choose between: zuppa di patate con gamberetti, Manhattan-style shrimp and clam chowder; insalata di spinaci e zucca, baby spinach, roasted butternut squash, dried cranberries, apples and champagne vinaigrette; carpaccio di manzo, thinly-sliced filet mignon, capers, wild arugula, shaved Grana Padano and extra virgin olive oil; or cozze e vongole, steamed mussels, littleneck clams, Linguiça and fennel, served in white wine and butter broth.
Entrée options include: capesante con risotto al agli asparagi, pan-seared wild scallops, sautéed fennel and asparagus risotto with butter thyme sauce; costolette di agnello in crosta di parmigiano, pistachio-crusted lamb chops and root vegetable purée in a balsamic reduction; branzino, grilled branzino and shrimp with fresh pomodoro sauce; and gnocchi al pesto, house-made gnocchi with toasted pine nut pesto and brie cheese with sautéed root vegetables. For a $12 supplemental charge, guests may add a 6 oz. Canadian cold-water lobster tail to any entrée dish, or choose filet mignon al pepe verde, bacon-wrapped Angus filet mignon served with Tuscan scalloped potatoes and green peppercorn sauce.
Dessert offerings include: amaretto panna cotta, amaretto, vanilla bean and espresso panna cotta served with almond biscotti; cheesecake al tiramisu, espresso-soaked lady fingers, mascarpone cheese, rum and dark chocolate cookie crust; and limoncello mousse, topped with mascarpone crème fraiche and fresh seasonal berries.
