Richard Bailey has an unusual quality for a politician: he is more interested in what you have to say than with what he has to say. I have been struck by his willingness to meet with anyone who wants to discuss an issue, by his open mind and by his thoughtful questions. He takes great care in understanding an issue thoroughly before taking a position.
And there are other reasons why I am supporting Richard Bailey for mayor. He is committed to preserving our small town ambiance, focused on quality of life issues for residents and dedicated to sensible, fiscally prudent solutions to our issues. He has promoted community involvement with our city government in many ways – from e-mail distribution of the Council agenda highlighting the most significant issues to anyone who gives him their e-mail address, to eliciting community input on issues like excess signage and to e-mail surveys on important issues. And every day I appreciate the Nixle traffic alerts which he made available to Coronado residents.
To me, Richard represents a fresh look at City issues and for that and all the above reasons he has by vote.
