Arrests Made in Thefts of Bicycles and More

Coronado Police Logo and CuffsAround 6:20 a.m. Tuesday morning, a resident in the 700 block of C Avenue noticed a woman dismantling a bicycle in the alley. The resident immediately called police to investigate. Officers arrived on scene to find that the suspicious woman had moved the bicycle to a vehicle in a bank parking lot where officers also found a second woman holding two additional bicycles, and a man sitting in the car.

Officers determined that earlier that morning, the three suspects entered a nearby shared garage through the open pedestrian door and stole various items, including three bicycles, skateboards, luggage, tools and important personal financial papers. The trio were attempting to organize the loot in the bank parking lot when officers arrived and caught them in the act. Officers also found drugs in the car and a dagger on the male suspect. All three subjects were arrested and taken to jail.

We would like to thank the resident who called us to report the suspicious activity. The resident was observant and extremely detailed in describing the suspect, and which direction she was traveling. This was Neighborhood Watch at its best!
