Coronado Parking Meter Installation Update

Screen Shot 2016-06-24 at 2.35.38 PMThe City of Coronado parking meter project has been completed. All of the new meters have been installed, calibrated and tested. The anti-feeding, pay by credit card, resetting and prepay features are now active. The new meters are backlit for low lighting conditions.

The meters are not enforced between 6:00 pm – 8:00 am. The prepay feature allows the public to pay prior to the enforcement hours. The meters will accept payment 30 minutes prior to 8:00 a.m.  When the meters activate at 8:00 a.m. the applied time will begin. If time is applied to a meter that exceeds the 6:00 p.m. cut off, the time will not display. For example, if it is 5:45 pm and an hour is applied to the meter, only 15 minutes will display.

The new meters are very reliable and have the ability to track all transactions, as well as alert staff when there is a malfunction. The public is encouraged to report meters issues to the Coronado Police Department at (619) 522-7350.
