Coronado Tours

There are many tours in Coronado that are perfect for any afternoon or late morning. Tours are great for locals too, even though you may have lived here all of your life, you can still learn about the history of your hometown and you can always find something new to enjoy. Here are a few that I know of:

The Segway Electro- Glide Tours are fun and exciting to go on. You must complete a Segway training session on a Segway PT before exploring Coronado, however it is worth it! The tour includes seeing many historical sites that make up Coronado including the San Diego Bay, Ferry Landing, Tidelands Park, Glorietta Boulevard and the beautiful homes that line it, the Coronado Golf Course, and of course the Hotel Del Coronado. The Promenade Through the Past Walking Tour is an excellent choice if you are interested the the architecture in Coronado. The 60 minute walking tour includes highlights of some of Coronado’s architecturally and historically significant buildings. The fee is $10 and includes a walking tour guidebook. The tour is offered Wednesdays at 2:00 pm at the Coronado Historical Museum. The tour is operated by the Coronado Visitor Center and the Coronado Museum. The Official Hotel Del Coronado Tour includes a historical walk through the grounds of the Victorian style Hotel and is the only tour approved and available and sanctioned by the hotel management where you are also allowed inside the hotel. The tour is operated by the Visitor Center and the Coronado Historical Museum. The tour begins in the front of the Grande Hall of the Hotel Del Coronado Tuesdays and Fridays 10:30 am, Saturday, and Sunday at 2:00 pm. The Coronado Walking tour is a 90 minute tour of Coronado. It starts in the Glorietta Bay Inn Lobby on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 11 am, the fee is $ 12. To schedule a tour day, or for more information, please call 619-435-5993.

The City of Coronado’s Public Art Tour is a tour is a public tour for all and it is Free! This tour was created to promote awareness and appreciation of the arts. All you have to do is print out the brochure and take a walk through Coronado while enjoying many public art presentations found around Coronado. For more information please call 619-522-7326.

The Coronado Tree Tour is a tour through Spreckels Park to learn the histories, origins, and the care for more than 100 trees in the park. It costs $10 and is about 90 minutes. To schedule a tour, or for more information, please call, 619-435-1764.

The Gondola Cruise Tour is a tour in which you depart from the Loews Coronado Bay Resort, the Gondola Cruises offer a romantic Venetian-style cruise through the enchanting canals and waterways of the Coronado Cays. To schedule a tour, or for more information,

The old Town Trolley Tours are a fun and easy way to see San Diego, the Old Town Trolley tours the Gaslamp Quarter, World-famous San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, Seaport Village and Old Town. The Vintage Motor Tours are Sat. & Sun. of every month: every hour, on the hour from 10 a.m. to dusk. Board at Park Place Deli (1000 Park Pl.). You can also make up your own private and personnel tour. It is only 7 miles around the perimeter of a Coronado, including going under the bridge and to the end of the Shores condos. It is about a 2 hour walk, however it is worth taking the time to see all of the unexpected things that you might enjoy while walking around on your own. It is a beautiful tour that includes all sides of the island including from the Bay to the Beach and back.
